This month we welcome DJ RAY KEITH, one of drum ‘n’ bass‘ most well known producers and DJs, to our “Legendary DJ” roster.
Keith started DJ’ing in the 1980s, following English beat-freaks through hip-hop, soul and rare-groove, until hardcore and acid-house burst onto the music scene in the late ’80s and early ’90s. A mainstay of the UK breakbeat scene throughout this period, by the middle 1990s Keith had established his reputation as a trailblazer of the early jungle scene, and one of the most inspired drum ‘n’ bass DJs and remixers of all time.
Famed for producing bass-heavy yet soulful tunes, Keith has produced numerous albums and his own classic tracks including jump-up anthem “Terrorist”, “The Chopper” and “Renegade”. He has also produced numerous inspired remixes, the first of which was his ground-breaking remix of Orbital’s ‘Chime’, followed later by remixes of tracks by Moby, Shades of Rhythm and Moving Shadow.
