Storm DJs equipment: the guide. As a part of our ongoing Frequently Asked Questions series, we lay out our answers to simple service questions about Storm DJs.
What equipment will Storm DJs use at my event?
It depends on what equipment you have booked. Please see below for the complete answer.
The more complete answer:
- If you have booked DJ equipment (decks/controller/mixer), i.e. the DJ’s instrument, then your booked DJ or sound engineer will turn up with the below (or similar). This shows a standard DJ controller – in this example a Pioneer XDJ-RX. Our DJs will generally use one of the set-ups as shown in our DJ equipment guide here.
- If you have booked the standard PA system (sound/speaker system), then your booked DJ or sound engineer will turn up with the below (or similar). Our standard systems are at least 1,000W RMS but we have many larger and louder systems if required. The below is an Alto PA system.
- If you have booked the standard multi-colour sound-activated lighting system, then your booked DJ or engineer will turn up with the below (or similar). The picture on the right shows the active system in a dark room.
- If you have selected any lighting and effect upgrades, they could include any of the below:
- Discoballs – for a classic disco feel.
- Uplighters – LED Par Cans for creating coloured walls.
- Smoke machines – adds incredible atmosphere, but only suitable in venues without restrictions.
- Screens – to display event messages or marketing.
- Discoballs – for a classic disco feel.
- If you have booked ‘old-school’ vinyl turntables instead of the current digital DJ controllers/decks, then your booked DJ or sound engineer will turn up with the below (or similar). The Pioneer PLX-1000 are shown here.
- If you have requested anything else related to sound and light production we will endeavour to source whatever you require. However we are a DJ company, and as such we do not provide anything which is not related to this (such as photo booths, kid’s entertainers or catering!)
