DJ Frizzie is one of our most popular female DJs, she has a passion for music that makes her the perfect DJ for any client looking to create an energised dance floor. We had a chat with DJ Frizzie to find out more about her experiences.
Is there a story behind your DJ name?
I got the name Frizzie from my favourite PC game!
How would you describe your musical style?
Diverse. I listen to and play so many different genres.
What is your current favourite DJ performance equipment?
I love the controller that I take to my gigs, the Numark NS7ii
What got you into DJing?
Having a love for music and going to parties, it was a natural progression to start playing the music at those parties.
Which well-known DJs’ style do you most reflect?
I’m always inspired by the energy of David Guetta and Avicii
Tell us about your all-time favourite artist
There are so many! But my top artists are Britney Spears, J-Lo, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and Toni Braxton.
What was your best ever gig and why?
I was part of the ‘Smirnoff Equalising Music’ initiative which was a project to help promote gender diversity in music. I came 3rd in the country-wide competition and it was such a great learning experience.
What has been your most ridiculous DJ request to date?
In my opinion, no request is ridiculous because it’s what the audience wants and my job is to please the audience.
What has been your worst gig and what happened?
Technical issues at a private party. My laptop wouldn’t power-up and then when it did the software wouldn’t load. Luckily I was able to use replacement computer and get the party going.
What one useful tip would you give to anyone looking to book a DJ for their event?
To be sure about the kind of music they want played at their event and make sure they have a reasonable budget to pay for a top quality DJ.
What is your definition of a DJ in 2019?
Someone who can seamlessly mix one song into another and create a free-flowing atmosphere.
