Classically trained, but with a flair for a plethora of styles, Jessie May Smart’s live performances span jazz to house, and folk to fusion. She is a regular string quartet player, with experience that includes playing with Katie Melua on her European arena tour.
Jessie began learning the violin at the age of 4, training at Royal College of Music Jr dept., The University of Nottingham (Music), and Trinity College of Music (postgrad training). She holds a distinction in dipABRSM performance diploma. Jessie also has a great deal of experience in playing for shows, having depped on West End hit Wicked in London, and played on countless award-winning Off West End productions.
Having improvised since she started playing, Jessie enjoys the freedom it allows. Her improvisation has taken her across the globe, both solo, and with various groups and DJs.
Jessie is constantly honing her signature sound, and has a large and growing selection of effect pedals to enhance her performances. She is now available for booking alongside any of our talented DJs.
