PROFILE
Tina Edwards is one of the most respected selectors in the U.K., joining the dots between jazz and club culture. Her sets are an eclectic mix of contemporary, unearthed and obscure gems, featuring everything from large-scale jazz, funk and disco, to a spectrum of house music and left-field pop. She’s a tastemaker, breaking artists and bringing jazz to a new audience, and is the host of BBC One and BBC Four’s TV documentary JAZZ UK : Spitting Fire.
Tina’s been championing the UK Jazz sound since 2014, and was a long-standing resident on Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM, where she launched the revered breakfast show WW Daily. She’s spotlighting her favourite artists on various radio platforms, from multi-genre new music show Next Big Thing on British Airways to hosting a weekly segment on Japan’s J-Wave, as well as Bandcamp Weekly. She also regularly appears on BBC Radio 3 with Jazz Fix, introducing celebrity guests to the genre.
On the festival circuit, she’s performed at All Points East, Lost Village, XJazz Berlin, We Out Here, and Love Supreme, where she also guest curated the Blue In Green stage.
