What got you into DJing?
I really just started DJing as a fun new way to enjoy listening to music. Then it spiralled into a career that I love

Is there a story behind your DJ name?
I’m a snowboarder 🙂

Which big name DJs’ style do you most reflect?
Andy C, A.Skillz

Do you remember your first ever gig?
Yes, I was terrified, but absolutely buzzing!!

Tell us about your all-time favourite artists.
I grew up listening to Drum and Bass and my all time favourite DJ/Producer is Andy C… he’s been there since the beginning embracing movement and change and staying at the top of the game. His sets are just amazing, clever, creative. high energy and super super fun!!!

What has been your most ridiculous DJ request to date?
Erm… a 3 song mix request for a “perfect mix from chill/dubstep to hiphop to Bollywood” I’m not sure what they wanted this for but i ended up having fun making it. I did Skream remix of La Roux ‘In for the Kill’ into ‘Gin and Juice’ by Snoop Dogg into Panjabi MC – ‘Mundian To Bach Ke’… and it actually sounded pretty sick!!

How do you think DJ technology will change into the future?
We will be able to control everything using our minds 😉

What was your worst gig and why?
Probably when a chick threw up all over the floor right in front of the both!!

What was your best ever gig and why?
I guess it’s all about the crowd… if they are having fun then i am. One of my favourite nights was at a club in France. I ended up playing for 6 hours straight which was longest longest gig i’d ever played, the place was rammed from start to finish and the crowd were just so amazing! I started with Hip-hop then picked up the tempo during the night and finished with 2 hours of drum and bass. I also got a tweet from my favourite DJ just as i was about to start so that gave me a real buzz!!

Do you think we will see DJ robots soon?
Haha no

Do any ‘star’ DJs get on your nerves?
Well for me I see myself as a vessel to draw attention to the music… There are DJs who I feel use the music to draw attention to themselves looking for hero worship during their sets… I find all that a bit cringeworthy.

What one useful tip would you give to the layman looking to book a DJ for their event?
Have an idea of what you are looking for from the music… Then research the DJ… Check out their mixes on Soundcloud to see if you like their style. And communicate with them before the date give them a brief on the sound and you are looking for.
